The firm is led by Upasna Talwani, Principal Immigration Lawyer, and Naveen Talwani, Solicitor Director, whose multidisciplinary backgrounds span legal practice, military service, and international aviation. Together, they have built TGIF Legal on principles of discipline, accountability, and service excellence. These values continue to guide the firm’s approach to every client matter. The next generation of leadership further strengthens this foundation, contributing hands-on immigration practice experience, operational oversight, and a structured, detail-driven approach to service delivery.

Founders
Upasna Talwani
Before establishing TGIF Legal, Upasna gained valuable experience with leading professional services and specialist immigration practices, including Deloitte and Parish Patience Immigration Lawyers. During this time, she worked on complex and high-value immigration matters involving corporate clients, skilled professionals, families, and individuals navigating Australia’s migration system.
Her experience spans employer-sponsored visas, skilled migration, corporate mobility, family and partner visas, student visas, visitor visas, and permanent residency pathways. This background has given her a strong understanding of both the commercial requirements of businesses and the personal circumstances of individuals seeking to build their future in Australia.
Upasna is known for her clear, practical, and carefully considered legal advice. She takes a meticulous approach to immigration matters, with a strong focus on compliance, risk management, strategic planning, and well-prepared applications supported by structured legal submissions.
Clients value her ability to explain complex migration requirements in a straightforward and accessible way, while providing realistic guidance tailored to their circumstances.
As Principal Lawyer, Upasna takes a hands-on role in overseeing matters from the initial consultation through to finalisation. She is committed to delivering ethical, transparent, and client-focused legal services, guiding clients through Australia’s immigration system with professionalism, care, and confidence.
Om Talwani
Om Talwani is a Director of TGIF Legal and plays a key role in the firm’s operations, client service systems, technology, business development and strategic growth.
With practical experience supporting a broad range of immigration matters, Om assists with matter coordination, document preparation, client communications, compliance processes and the implementation of efficient legal practice systems. He has contributed to the management of numerous visa and sponsorship matters, including employer-sponsored, skilled, partner, student and visitor visa applications.
Om also oversees the firm’s digital infrastructure, website, client management systems and administrative processes, helping ensure that clients receive responsive, organised and professional service throughout their matters.
Alongside his work at TGIF Legal, Om is studying Civil and Structural Engineering. His analytical approach, attention to detail and commitment to problem-solving support the firm’s focus on delivering practical and results-driven assistance to its clients.
Om is passionate about developing TGIF Legal into a modern, accessible and client-focused law firm that combines strong legal representation with efficient systems and personalised service.
Naveen Talwani
Naveen completed his legal studies at a highly regarded law college in India and was admitted as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi. His legal training and professional admission provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, professional responsibility, and client-focused advisory work.
Prior to his legal and commercial aviation career, Naveen served with distinction in the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot. This experience shaped his disciplined approach to leadership, risk assessment, strategic decision-making, accountability, and performance under pressure.
Following his retirement from the Indian Air Force, Naveen practised as a solicitor and applied his legal training in professional practice and advisory roles. His experience includes structured problem-solving, regulatory awareness, compliance-focused decision-making, and practical legal service delivery.
Naveen is currently a commercial pilot with Atlas Air, USA, while continuing to serve as Solicitor Director of TGIF Legal. His leadership at the firm is grounded in his legal education, professional admission, and practical experience, complemented by the discipline, precision, and strategic mindset developed through his aviation and military background.
As Solicitor Director, Naveen provides oversight, direction, and a solutions-focused approach to the firm’s operations. He is committed to ensuring that TGIF Legal delivers legal services with integrity, professionalism, precision, and care.
